I have a need to touch everything when I am out shopping.
I also like to look at menus online before I go out to eat so I can have an idea of what I want. More often than not I end up getting something totally different.
It's officially happened. My 9 year old daughter may believe she is smarter than me. Not really, but I think I passed the "mom is kind of an idiot" test in her eyes tonight. Carter had these little ball things she got from a friend, apparently called "orbeez" (I had to look it up to find out the exact spelling. My guess would have been orbies.) Later on she was putting them in water and I said "what do you do with these "OOBIES" anyways?"..."ohhh hmph. They. Are. Orbeez. Mom."
Well, excuse me...'Like Duh'.
I have very sweet kids, but they do have their moments of "eye rolling" at my expense.
Like our children, don't we as God's children do this to Him? As His children, don't you think sometimes he may say "I actually have very sweet kids but they have their moments of "thinking they know more than Me".
The God who created the heavens & the earth and all that is in it. Who has infinite wisdom, power, greatness, holiness. Who is all knowing. Who can take any and everything and make it good. Who uses us in the midst of our weakness & imperfection and calls us lovely and amazing and beautiful and wonderfully made. Who has plans and purposes for us in this world HE created.
We are the children, but we treat our heavenly Father as though we know more than Him. The one who knows, sees, and hears ALL!
We're NOT smarter than God. We don't have all of the answers. But HE does.
God's plans are perfect and His ways are higher. Trust Him that He has our BEST interest at heart. That in His infinite wisdom & knowledge, He sees the whole picture. He knows us better than we know ourselves, we can trust Him to lead & guide us. We can stop trying to fit Him into our plans and start following Him & His plans because HE knows BEST and He wants us to rest in that fact.
Who are we that we think God can be guided? God leads us. We don't lead Him.
