Prepare to Be Stoned
(The Art of Vulnerability)
With a title like this it’s no wonder most of us are afraid of vulnerability. But what is it about being "fake" that is more appealing? Are we afraid to be who we really are for fear we will be judged and have to deal with the scowl of man?

Do we even know who we really are? Or is it that we are surrounded by people with opinions so "high & mighty" it causes the unfortunate disease of "worrying what people think"?

Do you ever feel like no matter what you do or how you do it, how you look, etc. that you are never going to be good enough? Or no matter what you say it continues to be picked apart or switched around?

Some people in this world are going to be hard to please no matter what we say or do. No matter how we look.

One thing I know is we live to please God, NOT man. Galatians 1:10- “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ”. If we are doing what we know God wants us to do, if we are where He wants us to be, if we are who He has made us then IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT PEOPLE THINK OR SAY ABOUT US THAT DETERMINES WHO WE ARE. IT’S WHO GOD IS AND WHO HE SAYS WE ARE!

Matthew 7:2- “For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you”.

Are the people in your life who are hard to please, in your shoes? Do they live your life? Do they know what it is like to be YOU, wholly & uniquely you; the way God has created you?

Do we know what it’s like to walk in the shoes of those we criticize as though we are some sort of expert on the life they live?

Some of us would be far less insecure, if we could be far less judgmental. We tend to judge others based on our own perceptions. Well our perception isn’t reality.

God has created each of us to be different. He has called us to be different. Different from the world and different from each other. Romans 12:2 –“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is -- his good, pleasing and perfect will”. We are different & unique, yet ALL equal. Psalm 139:14- “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well”.

Let’s aim to treat everyone with love and respect NO matter how they treat us.

Be you, step out in vulnerability. Be bold and be confident because God says YOU are beautiful. God says YOU are loved.

No matter what stones get thrown, be YOU.

The more kind hearted and REAL we are, the more confident we will feel. The more vulnerable we allow ourselves to be the more God can use us for HIS glory.

Psalm 56:11- “In God I trust and am not afraid. What can man do to me?”

Live free! Live loved by our all-knowing God who loves each of us no matter what!
